The Vernon County Board of Supervisors, through the Infrastructure Committee, shall accept bids for a one (1) year lease of a 24-acre crop field on the landfill property. The acreage of the crop field is approximately 24 acres. The field is located to the east of County Road LF leading into the landfill facility. Bids should be in dollars per acre basis. No buildings are included. Lessee must control weeds by mowing twice a year. The term of the lease shall be from Jan. 1, 2024 through Dec. 31, 2024. The draft lease agreement that includes all terms the County will require of any successful bidder is available at the Solid Waste & Recycling Department’s office or below:
2024 Landfill Crop Field Lease Agreement
Bids are due no later than 4:00p.m. on February 12th, 2024 and will be accepted at the Vernon County Solid Waste & Recycling Facility, S3705 County Road LF, Viroqua, WI 54665. Further information may be obtained at the Solid Waste & Recycling Facility (608)634-2900. The Infrastructure Committee and the Vernon County Board of Supervisors reserves the right to accept or reject any and all bids. The Infrastructure Committee will open the bids on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 in the Vernon County Board Room, located on the 3rd floor of the Courthouse Annex.
- Tire pricing will increase October 1st to $370.00 per ton. Car Tires- $4.75 each, Truck & SUV Tires--12.50 each, Commercial Tires- $37.00 each.
- All businesses are required to obtain a Hauler License from the Vernon County Solid Waste and Recycling Department to utilize the County Facility.
- Please have all loads tarped or covered during transport to the landfill and help us keep our roadways litter free.
