This is an advanced full-time payroll position reporting to the County Clerk.  Employee works under the direction of the County Clerk and the Deputy/ Financial Accounts Manager. Employee in this position maintains confidentiality while exercising independent judgment and discretion in responsibilities of payroll administration. Employee may act in an official capacity in the absence of the County Clerk and the Deputy/Financial Accounts Manager.

Education and Training Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited high school or GED; Associate degree in business management or equivalent college courses or work experience with knowledge of basic accounting techniques; Supplemented by four years of general office experience, preferably in a position involving direct contact with the public; or any acceptable equivalent combination of training and experience. Prior payroll experience is required. Preference given for related AS400 payroll experience.
  • Must have valid Wisconsin driver’s license and reliable transportation with adequate auto insurance to meet minimum County requirements or access to reliable transportation for city and rural travel
