WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor Program

All pregnant and breastfeeding women enrolled in the Vernon County WIC Project have access to a trained breastfeeding peer counselor.

Peer counselors promote breastfeeding and provide basic breastfeeding information prenatally and help mothers explore and overcome barriers to breastfeeding after delivery. Peers offer support and encouragement to participants to successfully breastfeed their babies.
