Juvenile Delinquency

Delinquency Services may be provided to juvenile children age ten to seventeen who are alleged to have committed a crime. A Court Intake Social Worker receives referrals from law enforcement.  Supervision and services may result through an informal settlement or through Juvenile court proceedings.  Services may include counseling, restitution, community service work, loss of driving privileges, restorative justice program, and supervision with rules of conduct.  Supervision often includes curfews, mandatory school attendance, electronic monitoring, and random tests for drug or alcohol use.  Juveniles on supervision who fail to follow rules may receive additional sanctions including more community service work, additional periods of driver’s license suspension, and placements in a juvenile detention center.  As with JIPS cases a serious danger to one self or the community may result in out of home placements.
