Wisconsin Women Veterans Coordinating Committee Members Appointed
February 23, 2011
(MADISON) – The Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs (WDVA) announces appointments to the Women Veterans Coordinating Committee.  The committee, which has been the main organizing body of the annual Women Veterans Conference, was first formed in January 2006, to identify the needs of women veterans in Wisconsin and seek the best ways to provide outreach to them.
The committee represents a significant element of the Wisconsin Women Veterans Program within the Wisconsin Department of Veterans Affairs, to provide advocacy and support for women veterans in recognition of their contributions to Wisconsin and the nation.

 

The Committee members’ appointments are effective as of February 2011 and will expire in December 2012.


The members are:  Gundel Metz, U.S. Army SFC (Ret.), Chair; Miranda Cross-Schindler (U.S. Army); U.S. Marine Corps COL (Ret.) Ellen B. Healey; U.S. Army CPT Angela Joseph-Gaffke; U.S. Army COL Joane K. Mathews; Julie Murray (U.S. Air Force); Vera Roddy (U.S. Air Force); U.S. Army LTC Connie Schauer; U.S. Air Force MSgt Deborah Severson; and, new members Tegan Griffith (U.S. Marine Corps), Nicole Lillis (U.S. Army), Nora Meissner (U.S. Coast Guard), and Carolyn Morgan (U.S. Air Force).


Meetings are currently held at WDVA headquarters, at 30 W. Mifflin St., Madison, across from the Capitol.
