All waste collection service contracts in Vernon County should contain the following language:

All garbage shall be transported directly to and disposed of in the Vernon County Sanitary Landfill in accordance with all Federal/State/Vernon County law and ordinances.

By doing this you will:

1. be supporting the comprehensive services of the Vernon County Solid Waste/Recycling Programs.
2. not allow your waste to be commingled with waste from industrial areas outside of the Vernon County.
3. not share the liability of a large private landfill outside of Vernon County (you are liable for your waste forever).
4. not end up paying double for the same service (once on taxes & once with monthly service bill).
5. ensure the public health and environment of Vernon County for future generations.
6. be protected from the liability associated with the generation and disposal of waste with cash reserves held in escrow out of County control.
7. be sure that your waste is being processed by trained Wisconsin Certified Landfill Operators.
