The Vernon County Board of Supervisors authorized the development of a Comprehensive Plan and the formation of a Comprehensive Planning Commission with Resolution #2007-42

Mission Statement:

The mission of the Vernon County Comprehensive Planning Commission is to identify, assess, and prioritize planning element issues and opportunities within Vernon County, to make recommendations for needed actions to address the identified priorities, and to prepare a Comprehensive Plan by January of 2010 incorporating these priorities that will best serve the citizenry of Vernon County and comply with the State requirements as established in state statute.  (link to here: http://www.doa.state.wi.us/category.asp?linkcatid=743&linkid=128&locid=9)

This mission will be accomplished from late 2007 to the end of 2009 through a broad based approach that will include public input and participation, focused Planning Element Committee workgroups, the involvement of a Citizen Advisory Group, a plan review and public hearing process, and finally adoption of the final Comprehensive Plan by the Vernon County Board of Supervisors and submission of the plan to the State.  (“Comprehensive Plan Structure & Timeline Diagram”)
