The Citizen Advisory Committee is composed of leadership from membership groups of Vernon County and will meet as needed. The goal is to have open communication to these membership groups to help them participate in regular meetings of the commission, element workgroups, and special meetings that focus on an issue or neighborhood in the county. This committee can also help recruit expertise to serve on element workgroups, or bring expertise on an issue of concern (a more limited commitment.)
This group will be alerted by email of all posted meetings and agendas and this can be forwarded on to their wider membership as appropriate. Anyone who is a stakeholder in the county (landowner, resident, business owner) can ask to be on the committee and receive the notices of meetings.
Citizens who ask to be on an element workgroup will need to make application to the chair of the appropriate group. Application can be made via a simple letter outlining the applicant’s interests, expertise, location in the county and time willing to commit to the project. The element committees will need to manage the number of members to meet the needs of the workload balanced by a fair geographic distribution throughout the county if possible.
